Responsibilities: Northern State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Theatre. This appointment will require teaching theatre courses, including Acting, Directing, Theatre History, and other courses as needed. Other duties will include the periodic direction of departmental productions, along with contributing to the ongoing structural, curricular, and programmatic development of the Theatre unit. University duties will include continued professional research and scholarly growth, consistent and positive committee service, and an active role in student recruitment and retention. 
Northern State University Theatre is a small, yet energetic program with a long history of quality productions and collaborative spirit. It is housed in the recently renovated Johnson Fine Arts Center, featuring a shared 1,000-seat proscenium mainstage and a purpose built/flexible seating 150-seat Black Box Theatre for performance and instruction.
The successful candidate will bring a broad range of skills to impact the program and university, with priority given to experience with musical theatre, performance movement, and stage voice. Additional experience with design, stage combat, choreography, and playwriting are also welcome. Lastly, an interest in such areas as entrepreneurship and arts management is a plus. 
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
-Qualifications: Terminal degree (MFA, PhD, or equivalent) is required. Candidates must possess professional theatre experience; a record of exemplary teaching; a collaborative approach to Theatre; and evidence of success in promoting an environment that advances diversity, equity, and inclusion.
