Working Title Post-Doc Research Associate (Theoretical Cold Atom Physics)
Brief Summary of Job Description
The Physics department is seeking applicants for a two-year postdoctoral research position on project development in theoretical cold atom physics.
Job Duties
Specifically, the work will involve examining polaron systems, where the properties of the polaron itself will be studied or the polaron will be used as a probe of the bulk system. The successful applicant we be mentored by one faculty at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. As the position is a part a of FRG-3 of the EQUATE collaboration, interactions with faculty from Creighton University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln and University of Nebraska-Omaha. 1) The successful applicant will produce peer-reviewed manuscripts in cooperation with faculty mentors and their collaborators, 2) Actively participate in EQUATE collaboration meetings and activities, 3) actively participate in university-sponsored training for post-doctoral research associates across campus.
Required Qualifications
1) An earned PhD in theoretical, cold atomic physics or related field 
2) Solid scientific writing skills 
3) Solid scientific programming skills 
4) Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Preferred Qualifications
1) Experience in producing peer-reviewed manuscripts 
2) Experience in cold-atom polaron systems 
3) Ability to mentor and work with undergraduates
