Job Summary 

A Postdoctoral position is available to work with an interdisciplinary group of faculty on an NSF-funded project to infuse creative thinking and team-based problem solving into graduate education. The project: Creative Interdisciplinary Research in Graduate Education (CIRGE) involves the development, implementation, and assessment of two graduate level courses on creativity as part of a new graduate minor in Creative Interdisciplinary Team Research. 

Essential Functions 

  • Provide assistance in data acquisition and processing, perform student interviews, develop assessment instruments and grading rubrics, and assist in developing teaching materials.
  • Plan and run an annual creativity workshop for students who have completed the creativity courses.
  • Recruit students for and promote the two graduate courses being developed and the graduate minor.
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary instruction of the two courses.
  • Participate in manuscript writing and presentation of results at national conferences.

Required Qualifications 

  • PhD or Doctorate
  • Four years of research experience in Education or a related field, such as discipline-based education
  • Successful applicants are expected to work independently and to be self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with survey development and qualitative research techniques
  • Basic skills in statistical analysis and mixed methods research
  • Teaching experience

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table
