Position Highlights The Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering department at The University of Arizona is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate I. Under the direct supervision of Dr. Jesse Little, the selected candidate will be responsible for basic and applied research related to dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuators for aerodynamic flow control.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and development in one or more of the following areas related to dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuators: circuit design and characterization, benchtop and wind tunnel testing, actuator modeling and literature comparison, analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Supervision of Undergraduate and Graduate Students.
  • Project liaison to industrial sponsors and external federal agencies.
  • Assist or write proposals related to ongoing research projects.
  • Presentation of research at national and international conferences.
  • Close collaboration with industry and academia.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • The selected candidate must have a conferred Ph.D. upon hire in the area of aerospace engineering, computational sciences, or related field.
  • Experience in the fields of aerodynamics, active flow control, wind tunnel testing and plasma actuators.
  • Experience with numerical methods, and modeling and simulation.
  • Experience in analysis, research, and technical writing.
  • Experience with matlab, solidworks and labview.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Research experience with plasma actuators in turbulent flows.
