Advertised Job Summary
Job Duties include: (1) Conduct research on PBI polymer electrolyte membranes with a wide spectrum of electroanalytical characterization techniques to understand “structure – property – performance” relationship of polymers.  (2) Conduct research in polymeric membrane development for future energy devices. (3) Assist PI with analysis and testing in fuel cell testing laboratory and conducting research on fuel cells, hydrogen purification, and related electrochemical devices. Assist in maintaining electrochemical capability in a fuel cell testing laboratory.  (4) Advise students, technical staff, postdoctoral researchers on advanced electrochemical techniques and the use of scientific equipments. (5) Contribute to the writing of proposals and reports on funded projects and interact effectively with industrial partners. Publish results in scientific/technical journals and present results at appropriate scientific meetings.
Required Education and Experience
PhD in polymer chemistry, chemical engineering or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
-  Expertise in polymer membranes for fuel cells.
-  Experience and knowledge of fuel cell components including electrodes, catalysts, and related           characterization techniques
-  Experience in measurement techniques to measure and understand proton conductivity in                 polymer membranes using electrochemical techniques.
-  Knowledge and expertise in the use and maintenance of various analytical instruments, such as         fuel cell test stations, electrochemical test stations, DSC, TGA, DMA, GC, cyclic voltammetry, etc.
-  Documented evidence of publications in related fields.
