Position Summary
The UNC Neuroscience Center is an inter-departmental research center at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Our mission is to promote neuroscience research at UNC-Chapel Hill with an emphasis on developmental, genetic, and disease-related processes.
Laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms regulating neuronal survival and death in the context of neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration (e.g. Alzheimers disease).  Standard molecular, cell biological and biochemical techniques equipment used.  Procedures performed in cell free, cell culture and in mouse models in vivo.
The individual in this postdoctoral research associate position will investigate the molecular mechanism by which axonal and synaptic pruning and apoptosis is regulated in neurons.  Model systems utilized include primary neuronal models in microfluidic chambers, iPSC differentiation, and mouse models in vivo. 
Educational Requirements
PhD  or similar degree
Qualifications and Experience
Expertise in molecular and cell biological techniques is expected.  Experience with primary neurons and mouse models is advantageous.  Publications during phD is expected.
