Position Highlights The Schwartz Group in The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at The University of Arizona is seeking potentially two qualified, motivated Postdoctoral Research Associates with expertise in conducting computational/theoretical research on chemical reactions in complex systems (principally biological systems,) the study of large biological protein assemblies and motors, and possibly research into the use of bio-inspired liquid ionic systems. The research will both involve method development and computational application. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide advice and mentorship to graduate students in the Steven Schwartz group.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will perform both rare even and QM/MM simulations of complex biological systems.
  • Conducting computational/theoretical research on chemical reactions in complex systems (principally biological systems,) the study of large biological protein assemblies and motors, and possibly research into the use of bio-inspired liquid ionic systems.
  • Provide advice and mentorship to graduate students in the Steven Schwartz group.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a PhD degree upon hire.

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, or related field
