Required Education:

  • Appropriate PhD

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.

Preferred Education:

  • PhD in biomedical engineering or related technology or sciences.

Preferred Experience:-

  • Experience in experimental epilepsy and stimulation devices
  • Experience in stimulators, in silico studies and validations
  • Track-record of writing and publishing research manuscripts
  • Experience with lab research compliance such as devices and systems.      

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of current computational systems, neuroscience tools and devices. 
  • Knowledge of bioengineering lab equipment, systems, and device designing.
  • Knowledge of neurostimulation, brain diseases and antiseizure device discovery.
  • Possess a good understanding of neuroscience and EEG techniques.
  • Passionate about translational devices and neuroscience models.
  • Ability to organize, conduct and report bioengineering studies and experiments.
  • Ability to design, execute and validate brain EEG detection algorithms and studies.  
  • Experience working with preclinical neural signals, data compilation and analysis.
  • Experience working with big data mining, analysis and archiving.
  • Ability to conduct high-quality, independent research and publish high-impact papers.
  • Ability to work with a team of colleagues and collaborators in implementing project goals.
  • Ability to train or mentor junior staff in the lab.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, speak and present scientific results.
  • Proficient in epilepsy and brain research methods and analysis.
  • Advanced ability and knowledge in computational and neuroscience research
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate and test electroceuticals with advanced systems and techniques and partners. 
  • Interpret temporo-spatial progression of neuronal signals and seizures patterns.
  • Work in close collaboration with colleagues in the project across the campus and external research partners.
  • Develop and implement a thematic plan to accomplish project goals.
  • Coordinate scholarly activities including innovative and practical approaches to address translational goals in the project.
  • A commitment for excellence for multi-disciplinary research towards creating an innovative device.    
  • Development of electroceuticals for epilepsy and brain disorders.
  • Design and test of algorithms, systems and tools for control of epilepsy and seizures.
  • Coordinate and conduct studies of brain stimulating devices and extended monitoring.
  • Coordinate in designing and executing prototypes, systems and validation studies.   
  • Responsible for performing literature reviews and assessing the developments in the project field.
  • Assist and train other members in the team to execute their research tasks.
  • Train students and other staff to organize research studies and compliance issues.
  • Make presentations of research outcomes at local and national scientific meetings.
  • Write and edits manuscripts related to ongoing projects and help completing project reports
  • Assist the PI and collaborators in gathering relevant material for writing grants and project development.  
  • Prepare and archive of scientific records, sample inventory, and research database. 
  • Manage lab compliance and materials for research projects.
  • Order and maintain scientific supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain records and lab protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
