JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences of The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar. A successful candidate should have a strong background in high temperature electrochemical processes and thermodynamic property measurements of materials. The candidate should possess demonstrated abilities to work independently, publish, and organize research projects. The candidate is expected to contribute in the ongoing projects on electrochemical property measurements in molten salt solutions. Experience in developing high temperature electrochemical cells and reference electrode is required. The position is based in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, working under the supervision of Associate Professor Hojong Kim, and there will be opportunities to collaborate and interact with a broad group of faculty and students at Penn State and researchers at Idaho National Laboratory.

A Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field is required by the effective date of employment.

Funding is available for one year from date of hire with possibility for renewal.
