Advertised Job Summary
Work work closely with Lab Director and other team members in Geoinformation and Big Data (GIBD) and Big Data Health Science Center (BDHSC) to conduct cutting-edge and innovative interdisciplinary research on geospatial big data analytics (e.g., analyzing massive social sensing data and healthcare records) by using/developing advanced spatiotemporal analysis methods, statistical and predictive models, and computing algorithms and tools in the intersection of GIScience, data science, and health science. Job duties include data collection, management, and analysis; Big data methods/algorithms/tools design and development; preparation of manuscripts; grant writing; assistance with general laboratory maintenance. 
Required Education and Experience
Must have a doctoral degree in a GIScience, health science, spatial data science or other relevant discipline, by the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Research experiences and interests in geospatial big data, social media data analytics, deep learning, geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI), spatial computing, and infectious diseases analysis and modeling such as COVID-19 and HIV are preferred.
Big data analysis (including artificial intelligence and machine learning), quantitative methodology, strong analytic skills, ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively, high standard of work ethic, effective oral and written communication skills, and proficiency in programming and analysis software such as Python and GIS.
