The Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies chooses 4-5 doctoral or postdoc social science scholars to be in residence at Harvard for 2 years.
The program, also sponsored by the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, is aimed for advanced dissertation or postdoctoral level work at Harvard University. Scholars will take up four terms of residence at Harvard Academy, part of Harvard University, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Academy Scholars Program identifies and supports outstanding scholars at the start of their careers whose work combines disciplinary excellence in the social sciences (including history and law) with a command of the language, history, or culture of non-Western countries or regions. Open only to recent PhD recipients and doctoral candidates.
Those still pursuing a PhD should have completed their routine training and be well along in the writing of their theses before becoming Scholars.
Those in possession of a PhD longer than 3 years are ineligible.

Finalists must be available to travel for a personal interview on the program's November interview date, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.Academic Level
