JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Greater Allegheny invites applications for a faculty position, Director of Field Education/Assistant Teaching Professor of Social Work. This is a full time, 36-weeks, non-tenure-line, limited term (multi-year) appointment starting August 2022 or as negotiated with possibility of renewal.

Responsibilities:  Teach undergraduate courses each fall and spring semester at the Penn State Greater Allegheny campus in a variety of areas related to the Bachelor of Social Work degree program. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday, or online classes as needed. Publish in refereed journals. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Develop new social work courses and actively participate in the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation process. Provide leadership in the field education program through practice experience, field instruction experience, and administrative, and other relevant academic and professional activities in social work.

Qualifications:  Earned Masters in Social Work from a CSWE accredited institution with at least two years post-MSW social work practice experience. Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required. CSWE teaching and previous field education experience required. Evidence of potential in research and publication. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. Experience in developing collaborative community partnerships is required. CSWE accreditation experience is strongly preferred.
