A vacancy has arisen for two Medical Secretaries to join a friendly administrative team supporting the Auditory Implant Service at the University of Southampton. The centre offers a regional service for deaf children and adults who are need an auditory implant. Patients are assessed, receive treatment and are supported for life. You will be key members of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be an adaptable multi-tasker and provide proactive and patient focussed administration and support colleagues. You will need excellent secretarial skills including audiotyping and diary management. You will have proven administrative experience within a health care setting and ideally will have undergone specialist training as a medical secretary. The Senior Medical/Clinic Secretary will support and line manage four Clinic Secretaries providing supervision and workload management.
You should have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and be confident interacting via email and on the telephone. You must be a competent confident user of Microsoft Office. You must be able to communicate with people who may have difficulty with understanding and be compassionate to their needs. You will have a keen eye for detail and appreciate the need for accuracy and adherence to the data protection and information governance policies and procedures.
These posts are offered on a full time, permanent basis.

A standard DBS check will be required for this role.
