The Department of Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine seeks applications for two Research Associates interested in clinical research.  UVA Anesthesiology works to provide an environment where expertise and passions can thrive, utilizing our extraordinary team of anesthesia physicians, trainees, nurses, and staff to advance patient care within UVA Health.  Through excellence in physician leadership, research, education, and innovations, we strive to improve perioperative outcomes, establish unparalleled practices in patient care, and advance the field of anesthesiology globally.  The clinical research program is broader in scope, reflecting the diverse interests of the faculty. Also, a wide variety of types of clinical research is performed, ranging from participation in large multi-center trials (currently POISE-2, for example) to small faculty-initiated projects funded through departmental accounts. Overall, several dozen trials are active at any time, overseen by the departmental Clinical Research Committee.

The successful candidate will be expected to enhance and support the department’s growing clinical and educational research programs

Qualified candidates must have either a MD or PhD by the appointment start date. 

This is a 12-month appointment with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funding. Salary is commensurate with education and experience

This position will remain open till filled and review of applications will begin on May 30, 2022.  The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.  A completed pre-employment health screen is required for this position prior to employment.
