Summary of Position
The Earth Systems Research Center, University of New Hampshire (UNH), has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary research team consisting of a global ecologist (Dr. Jingfeng Xiao, UNH), a forest hydrologist (Dr. Ge Sun, USDA Forest Service), a forest ecologist/climate scientist (Dr. Steve McNulty, USDA Forest Service), and a biological scientist and a DGVM modeler (Dr. John Kim, USDA Forest Service). The postdoc will be employed via UNH and be physically based at the Research Triangle Park in Durham, NC where the Eastern Forest Environmental Threat Assessment Center and USDA Southeast Climate Hub, a facility of the Southern Research Station, USDA Forest Service, are located.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in areas such as forestry/natural resources, ecology, ecohydrology, remote sensing, atmospheric sciences/meteorology, biogeosciences, environmental science, or a related field is required.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates should have one or more of the following experiences: dynamic global vegetation modeling (or ecosystem modeling/Earth system modeling), satellite remote sensing, processing of large data sets, machine learning, and synthesis of in-situ observations. Strong communication, writing, and programming skills and publication record are highly desirable.
