Preferred QualificationsThe Research Scientist will function as a key member of the core research team at the Regional Biocontainment Laboratory and will primarily be responsible for design and execution of in vivo research studies in models of infectious diseases. The position requires a self-motivated, talented researcher, preferably with relevant laboratory experience in a BSL-3 biocontainment laboratory environment. The Research Scientist is a senior member of the research team who, in addition to responsibility for design and execution of sophisticated biomedical research projects also has responsibility for training and supervision of students, postdoctoral fellows and research technicians to achieve proficiency in high containment research practices. The scientist must have expert-level skills in biomedical laboratory research and must be prepared to work a flexible schedule, sometimes after hours and on the weekends.
