Position description

The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks applications for an Assistant, Associate or Full Teaching Professor. The Department consistently ranks among the top research and teaching programs in the country and continues to be at the forefront in emerging areas of chemical and biomolecular engineering and technology. This is a senate faculty position, with or on track for security of employment, which is equivalent to tenure. The appointee's primary responsibility is teaching and teaching-related tasks and secondary responsibility is professional and/or scholarly achievement and activity, including creative activity, especially as they relate to instruction and pedagogy. The faculty in this series also have responsibility for University and public service. Creative and energetic individuals who show extraordinary promise or accomplishment in any research area within the chemical and biomolecular engineering field will be considered. The person offered a position on our faculty would have an opportunity to interact with a diverse set of colleagues, who value inclusion and welcome collaboration. Berkeley also offers opportunities to interact and collaborate with researchers in other departments and with scientists and engineers at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

PhD (or equivalent international degree), or enrolled in PhD or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of application.

Preferred qualifications

PhD or equivalent international degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
