Job Description

The University of Notre Dame is seeking a detail-oriented, data-driven, and customer-focused individual with a passion for communications and technology to serve in the role of Email Communications Specialist within the Notre Dame Alumni Association’s (NDAA) Information Technology team.
The Email Communications Specialist coordinates the building, sending, and analysis of email practices on behalf of the NDAA. This includes coordinating with content providers to develop and send their broadcast communication requests to our community of 200,000+ alumni, parents, and friends for both the NDAA and campus partners. Duties also include identifying and reporting key analytics related to our communications, researching and outlining methods to improve effectiveness, helping manage our alumni email system, and participating in NDAA-sponsored events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Email Campaigns: Manage the end-to-end development and delivery process for broadcast communications within the NDAA, which includes capturing the requests, scheduling and coordinating with content providers, building email messages using NDAA tools, preparing recipient lists, sending the messages, and tracking message statistics and analytics.
- Best Practices and Process Improvement: Capture base practices related to communications lifecycles and provide consulting support to the NDAA team and campus partners.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Identify and develop useful analytics related to NDAA communications to help improve their effectiveness and improve future messaging.
- Google Domain Administration: Serve as the primary point of contact for the NDAA’s Google domain, including helping manage the account lifecycle, monitoring usage statistics and reporting, and preparing help and support documentation.
- And More: Engage in signature NDAA activities such as Reunion, NDAA board meetings, Leadership Conference, Football Fridays, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in a related field
- Understanding and use of basic to advanced principles, theories and practices related to broadcast email messages and/or email domain administration
- Interpersonal & communication skills, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills, and use of persuasion and negotiation to build consensus and cooperation
- Ability to organize in order to complete numerous assignments, set priorities, and oversee completion of assignments for self and others
- Detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to ensure precision and accuracy in work product
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert level working knowledge of HTML and CSS (experience with responsive design preferred)
- Familiarity with email metrics and analysis
- Familiarity with Google Domain administration and account management tools
