Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) is seeking a part-time mental health therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Center for Health and Counseling. This is a new position created as part of our implementation of a Workforce Inclusion & Successful Employment (WISE) grant awarded by Salt Lake County. The purpose of this grant is to support and assist SLCC students of lower-income communities to maximize their educational experience and achieve career success.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess students through clinical interview and establish appropriate case formulation and treatment plan.
- Provide mental health therapy and support to individuals, which may include crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and evidence-based treatment.
- Provide group therapy.
- Provide case management to students as needed.
- Maintain a confidential, safe, client-centered, quality experience for students.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation of student contacts and outreach activities.
- Develop and present mental health outreach presentations.
- Consult and collaborate successfully with other WISE grant staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Fully licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT).
One (1) year, paid, full-time, post-graduate experience (or equivalent) providing mental health services to individuals and groups.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to assist students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives with mental health challenges in order to improve academic, occupational, social, relational, and health outcomes.
- Assess students through clinical interview and establish appropriate case formulation and treatment plan.
- Provide psychotherapy with individuals and groups, including crisis intervention, supportive therapy, and evidence-based treatment.
- Provide appropriate case management and referrals to students.
- Maintain a confidential, safe, client-centered, quality experience for students.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy, including experience and aptitude with electronic health records.
- Well-developed skills in and commitment to working as part of an interdisciplinary team of mental health and medical professionals, support staff, and health promotion specialists.
- Familiarity with external mental health resources and willingness to assist students in accessing resources such as health insurance, food, housing, and other basic needs.
- Ability to work independently and creatively to support students in their unique challenges in the college environment.
- Ability to work with individuals who identify as LBGTTQQIA+, people with disabilities, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and students of all faith and/or belief backgrounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community of college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
