Summary of Job Duties:
The Evans-White Laboratory in the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Arkansas, invites applications for a 12-month Postdoctoral Fellow in Freshwater Ecology. A doctoral degree in biology or similar field and demonstrated research productivity in freshwater ecology is required. Candidates that apply ecological stoichiometry theory and are confident with invertebrate taxonomy are preferred. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations in the laboratory including mentoring of several undergraduate and graduate students and will help coordinate a summer Research Experience for Undergraduates Program. They will also organize field and laboratory studies, analyze results, and prepare and review reports, manuscripts, and presentations for scientific conferences. They will teach a graduate-level course in Biogeochemistry or Stream Ecology or a similar course in one semester a year.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Biology, Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, or related field prior to appointment

• Demonstrated research productivity in freshwater ecology

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated publication record in the field of ecological and/or biological stoichiometry theory; familiarity with aquatic invertebrate taxonomy and conservation genetics
