Department:
The Department of Resident Life serves a highly diverse population of approximately 12,500 undergraduate students living in traditional residence halls, apartments, and suites including some public/private partnership apartment communities. About 46% of all resident students are enrolled in twelve living-learning programs covering a wide array of academic areas. Resident Life employs a diverse workforce of 88 full-time and graduate staff members and about 600 undergraduate student staff members. Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Department of Resident Life has four Graduate Coordinator openings for 2023-2024. All are located in different units and have different job responsibilities. These are 12-month, 20 hour/week Graduate Assistant positions beginning in early to mid July 2023. To apply, please see specific instructions for application under “Additional Information” below. Graduate Coordinator, Academic Success and Community Development Programs
The Graduate Coordinator for Academic Success and Community Development Programs provides support and leadership for various programs, services, and initiatives focused in the areas of academic success, academic support services, student persistence, orientation, training, and community development. Additionally, the Graduate Coordinator maintains a working knowledge of and contributes to all functions of the Student and Community Development Programs unit in the Department of Resident Life.
Graduate Coordinator, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Graduate Coordinator for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion provides support and leadership for various programs, services, and initiatives focused in the areas of diversity programming, inclusion initiatives, staff development, and student staff training. The Graduate Coordinator may also provide support for other Department of Resident Life programs, processes, committees, and DEI initiatives.
Graduate Coordinator, Rights & Responsibilities
The Graduate Coordinator provides procedural and administrative support for the Office of Rights and Responsibilities. Primarily, the position involves the coordination of Resident Board Hearings, the tracking of incidents throughout the residence hall system and public-private partnership properties, and compilation and presentation of reports addressing student behavior in the residence halls. The Graduate Coordinator will conduct Preliminary Interviews and Disciplinary Conferences as needed. Additionally, they will share responsibility for managing the conduct process for the Department of Resident Life.
Graduate Coordinator, Training and Development
The Graduate Coordinator for Training & Development provides support and leadership for programs, services, and initiatives focused in the areas of staff development, student staff training, and inclusion initiatives. Supervised by the Coordinator for Training & Development, the Graduate Coordinator maintains a working knowledge of and contributes to each functional area within the larger Student & Staff Development unit in the Department of Resident Life.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree and current enrollment in a University of Maryland, College Park graduate program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Necessary skills include strong administrative and organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, professional customer service skills, and flexibility.
Preferences:
Graduate Coordinator, Academic Success and Community Development Programs:
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in student programming, academic support services, and/or residence life within a university setting.
Graduate Coordinator, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in diversity & inclusion programs or initiatives, programming, training or facilitation, and/or residence life within a university setting.
Graduate Coordinator, Rights & Responsibilities:
- Preference will be given to candidates with strong computer database, word-processing skills, and residence hall experience.
Graduate Coordinator, Training and Development:
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in diversity & inclusion programs or initiatives, programming, training or facilitation, and/or residence life within a university setting.

Remuneration:
The term of this position is the beginning of July 2023 to the end of June 2024. This role has an annualized stipend of at least $32,304, which is the 2022-2023 base salary set by the Graduate School and may be adjusted annually. Graduate Assistants are eligible to enroll in university health insurance programs at the regular staff rate. Tuition remission is provided and is credited at the prevailing standard in-state credit hour rate at the time the course is taken. Tuition remission does not cover additional university fees. Enrollees in programs that do not follow the standard in-state tuition rate or maximum allowable credits per semester, summer sessions, or winter term will be responsible for associated fees and the difference in tuition costs. Please note, housing is not provided with these assistantships.

Physical Demands
Normal office environment – Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
