Position Summary
The Career Program Coordinator position supports the academic leadership in the development, coordination, planning, implementation and evaluation of career and technical education (CTE) programs. This position contributes to CTE student success through coordination of staff activities (e.g., recruitment, marketing, advising, registration, retention), coordination with faculty (e.g., curriculum development and evaluation), and coordination with workforce development to ensure that CTE program objectives are met. This position develops metrics and reports to monitor CTE program and student access and success.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Assists the VPAAWD in the program planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of CTE program initiatives.
· Supports the CTE departments in the recruitment and marketing of the program by coordinating with faculty and the Office of Marketing and Public Relations.
· Coordinates the information sessions and other events for the CTE programs to provide opportunities for the community to learn about these programs.
· Coordinates with faculty and other areas of the College in planning and implementing special projects that include program expansion or enhancement, curriculum development, scholarship opportunities, and employer relationship-building.
· Supports the CTE departments in forming their program Advisory Committees while continually engaging in workforce development activities to expand the employer networks for the departments.
· Disseminate information to CTE students regarding support services available from the College
· Coordinates with the Student Affairs departments for student support activities, such as advising, recruitment, registration, retention, career planning, etc. that benefit CTE programs and their students.
· Monitors enrollment, persistence, and completion in the CTE programs to identify enrollment management strategies.
· Coordinates with Workforce Development to identify opportunities with employers for work-based learning, such as apprenticeships and internships, and to arrange employer site visits.
· Organizes team-building competition trips, such as Skills USA, by coordinating with faculty, students, administrators, and even organizers.
· Supports the Deans in planning for their CTE program needs such as facilities, equipment, furniture, and professional development opportunities.
· Works with the Institutional Research Office to develop, monitor, and evaluate performance metrics on student access and success.
· Prepares and presents written and oral reports and charts regarding technical, strategic, and performance aspects of the CTE programs.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the VPAAWD.
· Participates in committees or ad hoc teams that need CTE program representation.
Required Education
Associate's Degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
Other Required Qualifications
· Associate degree in a career and technical education program and a minimum of 2 years career experience working in their field and/or as a recruiter or advisor for a post-secondary education.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Demonstrated ability to prioritize while handling multiple tasks and projects.
· Ability to exercise judgement, handle confidential information and function with minimal supervision.
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

· Experience working in a community college.
