Essential Job Duties
The Department of Clinical Sciences at the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a clinical or tenure-track faculty member in the field of Ophthalmology at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The selected individual will work with other ophthalmologists to provide effective patient care and learning experiences for veterinary students, residents, graduate students, and veterinary practitioners. The faculty member will participate in clinical responsibilities of the Small Animal and Equine Ophthalmology services of the VH including organizing and supervising daily activities, personnel, and patient care. The faculty member will participate in continuing education, collaborative research efforts of the Ophthalmology Section, public relations programs, and College of Veterinary Medicine committees.

Minimum Education and Experience
- DVM or equivalent degree and board-certification in the American or European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO/ECVO) or completion of an ACVO (or equivalent) residency program with demonstrable progress toward ACVO or ECVOboard certification is required by start date.
Other Required Qualifications
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.
- Documented research record, which includes the ability to write and develop proposals that will obtain extramural funding (tenure track only).
- Aptitude for and desire to teach and mentor veterinary students and, house officers.
- Candidates interested in a tenure-track position must have a proven record in ophthalmic research, which includes the ability to write and develop proposals that will obtain extramural funding.

Required License(s) or Certification(s)
- Eligibility for veterinary licensure (or faculty certificate) in the State of North Carolina
