Post-Doctoral Research Assistant The Computational Mechanics Group, headed by Dr. Stephanie TerMaath, seeks a postdoctoral research assistant to contribute to computational modeling and fracture testing activities within the group. The initial appointment will be for one year, beginning in June 2023; this appointment is renewable depending on availability of funding and satisfactory progress. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in computational mechanics, peridynamics, high performance computing, and mathematics. In addition to independent and original research, the candidate will contribute to projects that involve formulating a multi-scale approach linking peridynamics and finite elements to characterize the damage tolerance of complex bi-material systems and to formulate non-linear surrogate damage models.
