Job Description Summary:
Department of Cancer Biology, KUMC is seeking a highly motivated candidate to work in the laboratory of Dr. Kalyani Pyaram as a postdoctoral trainee in the field of immunometabolism. Pyaram lab investigates the molecular and metabolic mechanisms of T cell functions and their role in inflammation and tumor responses. This project involves identifying the metabolic factors that shape T-cell immune responses using molecular biology, immunology, cell culture techniques and animal models. The successful candidate is expected to perform research by contribute to design of experiments, data acquisition, data analysis and interpretation, prepare manuscripts, and mentor junior researchers.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:

• PhD in immunology, biochemistry or a related

  field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• The preferred candidate is expected to have experience in molecular and cellular biology related techniques, strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills, and a track record of publications. Experience in cellular/molecular immunology, mouse models and handling are highly preferred. The candidates must have a Ph.D. in immunology, or other related biomedical sciences.

Job Duties Outlined:

• Experience and/or working knowledge of Flow cytometry.
• Experience in mice handling, and/or research

• and immunological methods

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to understand and apply primary literature
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Demonstrated research experience and familiarity with standard molecular biology techniques
