Job Description Summary: The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences. The Division is comprised of 11 pediatric psychologists, 2 developmental pediatricians, 7 developmental psychologists and one nurse practitioner. We are very active in all aspects of pediatric academic medicine including research, teaching, clinical service, professional service, and leadership in the Department and across the medical center.
Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching,
research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.
Job Description: Required Qualifications:
- Education: PhD, PsyD in Occupational Therapy or related field.
- Work Experience: Completed all requirements for licensure/practice in the state of Kansas. Applicants should have a demonstrated clear programmatic line of research in health psychology/behavioral medicine.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work Experience: Present funding or a strong potential for external grand funding. History of external grant funding, teaching experience in a medical setting, and clinical experience as part of a medical team.
Job Duties Outlined:
- Write and submit research grant applications for extramural funding.
- Procure external federal funding for research.
- Write and submit manuscripts to disseminate research.
- Present research to research cohort and at research conferences.
- Publish peer reviewed publications.
- Teach within research setting for graduate students, medical students, and post-doctoral fellows.
- Other duties as assigned.
