SENIOR DATA ANALYTICS ENGINEER, Open Learning-Engineering and Products Department, to join the Data Platform team. Open Learning has big ambitions to redefine the use of technology in teaching and learning at MIT and beyond. Will work with software, data, and DevOps engineers on the design, architecture, implementation, and delivery of the data platform that powers analytics and product features across MIT Open Learning. Responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining data analytics solutions to support business intelligence, data science, and machine learning initiatives; collaborating with cross-functional teams to define Open Learning’s data strategy, vision, and internal processes; using the dbt framework to deliver accurate, repeatable, and scalable data for use by Open Learning’s learning products and for its business needs; conducting exploratory analyses, creating visualizations, and writing data presentations; and ensuring proper data quality and governance controls are created and maintained to ensure the reliability of data assets.
Job Requirements:REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, statistics, or related field; seven years of work experience; proven experience designing and developing data analytics solutions using SQL, dbt, Python, or similar technologies; ability to use clear and direct communication skills to talk about complex, technical topics with technical and non-technical colleagues; and a track record of working independently with organizational and time management skills. PREFERRED: experience with dbt or similar data pipeline tools and familiarity with process controls required for data governance and with software engineering practices and the development lifecycle.
