Posting Summary | The Center for Human Evolutionary Studies (CHES) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow for a two-year position, pending annual performance review after year 1. The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to bridge research topics between two or more CHES faculty members (see our website for description of the different research projects (https://evolution.rutgers.edu/). The Postdoctoral Scientist will work alongside faculty members of the Center in a research capacity, will participate in the training of graduate and undergraduate students, and will assist the faculty, students and Center staff in managing and coordinating the activities of the center, including the seminar series, Lembersky Conference, and outreach activities. Research interests must be relevant to the CHES mission: to promote and support innovative and broad-ranging faculty and student research that is grounded in evolutionary theory and explores the past and present of what it means to be human. Your contribution will support research in paleoanthropology, archeology, non-human primate behavioral ecology, genetics, and modern human behavior across the globe, from New Jersey to Kenya, from Iceland to Indonesia. COVID-19 Immunization Requirement | Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility . Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine . Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination. |

Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals , if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
