Lead the computationally guided design of interfaces for catalysis or separations. Interfaces may be solid/liquid, gas/solid, or gas/liquid. Further, interfaces may operate under electric or magnetic fields, or under dynamic charge perturbation. Hence, application of advanced modeling techniques will be needed. Simulations will require the use of quantum calculations, molecular dynamics and/or Monte Carlo simulations, and multiscale modeling. The position will require frequent meetings with our computational and experimental collaborators, as well as producing publications and giving presentations at national and international conferences; preparing project reports; supervising graduate and undergraduate students to perform the simulations, analysis, and presentation of the results; and leading and assisting in the preparation of proposals for new funding.
