The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering (CECE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Florida, is seeking applications for a postdoctoral scholar position in the Catalysis Cluster for Renewable Energy and Chemical Transformations (REACT). This position is anticipated to begin in January 2021 and run through January 2023 (a two-year duration, depending on the starting date and based upon satisfactory performance; an early or late starting date is negotiable). The postdoctoral scholar will be supervised by Dr. Fudong Liu (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=5gRxLTwAAAAJ&hl=en). The research directions and topics for the postdoctoral scholar include, but are not limited to, heterogenous catalysis, nanomaterial synthesis, single site catalysis, environmental pollutant control (diesel and gasoline vehicle emission control), small HC conversion, catalytic hydrogen generation, etc. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to participate in funded projects from federal agencies such as the NSF and DOE, as well as leading industry partners.
Candidates with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or Materials Sciences and Engineering, as well as a strong interest in fundamental and applied heterogenous catalysis research are encouraged to apply.

Advertised Annual Salary:
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or Materials Sciences and Engineering from an accredited institution.
A strong interest in fundamental and applied heterogenous catalysis research.
Hands-on experience in thermal catalysis research.
Experience in heterogenous catalysis, thermal catalysis, nanomaterial synthesis, single site catalysis, environmental pollutant control (diesel and gasoline vehicle emission control), small HC conversion, catalytic hydrogen generation, etc.
